A household is considered to be in a food security situation when its members sustainably supply sufficient food in quantity and quality according to biological needs. Two commonly used definitions of food safety are those provided by the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) and the United States Department of Agriculture for its acronym in English).

The need to understand and manage food safety in the company has become a very important aspect in the sector. It all starts with the development of a food safety management system led by a professional with the knowledge and skills necessary for the design, implementation and development of the system.
The Food Safety Manager must know the different areas of the company and along with specific skills, be able to lead to the consumer or a healthy and safe product.
